Our Staff

We have been working hard since October 29th to help the residents of Lindenhurst and The South Shore recover. We are here for the long haul. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us with any questions or concerns.

Executive Director,  President

 

Michele Insinga was born and raised in Queens, NY, later moving to Long lsland and eventually buying a house in Lindenhurst with her husband & family. She became active in community service, prior to the storm, as she had been while living in Queens. While being moderately affected by Sandy, she immediately became fully engaged with the local community, developing vital relationships to professionals and officials. She than used her professional experience in insurance to help those affected with their claims, while keeping up with the constant changing needs that comes with recovery from Sandy. Since than Adopt A House and Michele has received various Citations and Proclamations, with Michele herself, Women of Distinction Awards. She lives with her husband Andrew & their dogs. Has one son, John & 2 grandchildren John Patrick & Gianna Marie.

 

 
Beth Ann Huff
Secretary, VP

Beth Henry is a NYC Math Teacher and has worked as a teacher in the Department of Education for 20 years. 

Beth is an active board member to Adopt A House as well as SFN for approximately 3 1/2 years. Beth resides in Long Island, New York with her husband and 2 young daughters.  Beth’s community group, Sandy Support Massapequa Style has been honored with a Citation from Nassau County and The Smart Growth Award from Vision LI for the outstanding service to their communities following Super Storm Sandy.  Beth helped organized the first multi state SFN rally in 2013.  She is also a founding member of The South Shore Recovery Group which is a joint task force made up of the most influential community groups across Long Island’s south shore.  They provide a unified voice with local, state and federal politicians. One of the coalition’s objectives is to assist NY State to build back better and stronger by bringing attention to the inadequacies and failures of the NY Rising grant process for Super Storm Sandy.


 

Kelly Harris - kelly@adoptahouse.org

Treasurer

 

Kelly Harris was born and raised in Queens. Kelly attended Hofstra University and received her BBA in Management. She continued to further her education at St. John’s University and received her MBA in Executive Management. She currently works for AECOM as Accounting and Office Manager for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub Project. Kelly’s home was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. She continuously generates ideas to help others, and to get the necessary information out to those in need. Kelly has resided in Massapequa for 15 years with her husband, Mike, and her daughter Kaitlyn.

Holds a Master Degree in Art Education and Master Degree in Elementary Education. Taught in private and public school for 14 years before becoming a stay at home mom to three children. Loves reading, gardening, painting and spending time with her husband and children.
